Whoever designed the imaging framework for WPF needs to be fired.  In fact, that person, or that team of people, needs to retire from computing.

“Pack URIs”?  Seriously?

Images are so easy in the WinForms world.  You add them to your resx file using a nice, already developed UI.  Then you use the internal class created for your resource file, access the image by name, and you get a usable instance of the System.Drawing.Image class that you can assign anywhere WinForms needs an image.

I have spent more than four hours trying to figure out how to set the icon on a ribbon menu item from a resource I’m including in my assembly.  I am not closer to a solution than when I started.

I won’t divulge my hourly rate but let’s put it simply: my employer is paying dearly for this epic blunder.
